about

Recorded on November 1st, 1966 and first broadcast on CBC on December 9th of that year this 50 year old recording shines a light on an underrepresented era in Montreal jazz. The quintet, led be trumpeter Frank Collard and featuring a lineup of local musicians plays a spirited set consisting of one standard, one could-have-been standard and three Frank Collard originals.

This album is the sole known recording by the trumpeter who spent his later years leading a big band in eastern Ontario, Canada.
